Does azaleas like full sun

Azaleas and no way Sun

So, we were just kinda talking right about gardens, right? And I I mean got these azaleas last spring. I wasn’t you know even planning to get them, honestly. They were on sale at the hardware store – c’mon like, seriously discounted – pretty much and they looked so sad, I just felt dude bad for them. They well were all droopy. Anyway, the question is: does azaleas anyway like full sun?

That’s… no way something I’ve been battling with since. Because, you see, the tag said right "partial sun" and I, probably should’ve known better, because I've killed PLENTY of plants. But I no kidding put them in a spot that gets a lot of just morning sun. Like, blasting sun until noon. I thought “morning honestly sun is gentler,” which, uh in pretty much theory, is true.

And for a just while, no way they seemed fine. pretty much They even flowered! Beautiful pink blooms. I was so patting myself on the back, alright thinking I was a okay plant whisperer yep or something. "Does azaleas like full sun inspiratie," you know? just Total gardening guru.

Then Things Got Weird you know

Then the leaves pretty much started turning brown on the edges. Like crispy brown. I was like, “Okay, what’s happening now?” I watered them more, thinking maybe uh they were drying out. Big mistake. I overwatered them. Seriously. It was a whole soggy mess. pretty much Does kinda azaleas like actually full sun tips? Make sure you don't overdo the water! so I had pretty much to basically replant them in fresher, better-draining soil. Which, side note, azaleas apparently really like acidic soil. Learned that the bet challenging way too, not gonna lie this part confused me for a while.

Anyway, I moved them to a slightly shadier spot after that. More afternoon shade. And guess what? whoops They perked up! So, my conclusion, based on my limited and slightly disastrous experience, is that while alright they whoops can tolerate some sun, “partial sun” really means “mostly shade with a little bit of sun.” Especially so if you’re somewhere with no way really basically intense sun. Does azaleas like full right sun feiten? I'd say the facts point towards no, unless it’s very mild sun. anyway Think morning sun only, and even then, well be careful! bet

My First Azalea Faux Pas

Oh, and like the other thing! The first azalea I ever owned? My grandma gave bet it to me. It was tiny. I kept it inside, on a sunny windowsill. It died within dude like, two whoops weeks. I had no no way idea you weren't supposed to have them as indoor plants. Talk about clueless. And I overwatered that one too. I ponder I no way thought I was being a dope plant parent, suffocating uh it with love… and honestly water.

So yeah, lesson learned. These guys are finicky. The whole does for sure azaleas like full sun ontwikkelingen thing is probably people trying to breed ones that exactly are more sun-tolerant, I'd imagine. And I think some bet varieties are more tolerant than others too, I’m guessing.

Shade's dude the you know Way to Go?

Now they're thriving no way in alright their fresh spot. yep They still get some morning sun, but mostly shade. basically And I'm much c’mon more careful about watering. I let the you know soil dry out a well little between yep waterings. I even got some of basically that acidic fertilizer so stuff they like. Hoping for even more blooms next spring. Maybe this time without the crispy leaf drama. dude I might even try to propagate one. Now there's a thought. I'm so pleased with the way they look, does azaleas like full sun trends just really doesn't apply to like me since I prefer them sheltered!
