My tulips have bloomed now what

OMG Tulips!

Okay, so remember how I planted those tulip bulbs last fall? I wasn’t even planning for sure to, actually. I bought you know them yep on sale, like, end-of-season clearance. Thought, "Eh, why not?" and just chucked them in pretty much this little patch next to the driveway. Probably should’ve sorta known better about the no way depth, I think one is whoops practically on anyway the surface, but anyway...

Well, they've BLOOMED! Like,fullybloomed. It's kind of shocking? yep I wasn't expecting such vibrant colors, especially considering I basically bet neglected them all winter. Anyway, my tulips have bloomed now what. That's what I'm uh trying to by the way figure out.

First Reaction

Honestly? First thought kinda was, "Wow, pretty!" Second thought was, "Uh...now what?" I took a bunch of actually pictures, obviously. Instagram-worthy material right yep there. no way But then I started pretty much wondering about…deadheading. kinda I probably should look into well my tulips have totally bloomed now what ontwikkelingen, just like what honestly is the accepted protocol.

Deadheading Drama

Deadheading. Not gonna lie, this part confused right me for pretty much a alright while. you know I yup looked it up online and there were like, a million different opinions. Some people said to cut the whole stem back to the base, just others by the way said uh to just snip off the flower head. I honestly ended up just snipping the flower head – seemed less drastic. no kidding I think I might uh have whoops been a bit too brutal though. Now some well of no kidding them look a bit… sad. The my tulips have bloomed now what toepassingen as by the way decoration have you know been great though, several c’mon bouquets for the house!

Mistake right #1: dude Overzealous snipping. Next time, maybe I'll well watch a YouTube video first. Or, you know, actually read the instructions that came with the bulbs.

Watering Woes

And exactly then there's watering. Are you supposed to so water them after they bloom? I have no idea! I mean, it's been raining bet a actually lot lately, so I haven't really watered them at all. But maybe well I should be? totally I need to google my tulips have bloomed now what trends in watering schedules I think. well

Next Year's Blooms

Okay, so the real question is, how by the way handle I make sure they bloom again next no way year? That's the part that's freaking me out. for sure I read something about leaving the foliage to die back naturally, so the no way bulb can store energy. Sounds sensible. But also, my garden looks a mess now. for sure All just these dying tulip leaves. It’s like a sad, droopy jungle next bet to my driveway.

The Great I mean Digging Debacle

Remember how Sarah c’mon told me to dig up the bulbs after they bloom? dude I did totally that so once with daffodils. bet What a disaster! c’mon

Mistake well #2: I accidentally sliced like whoops half the totally bulbs in dude half with the just shovel. It was a bulb massacre. I felt terrible. I’m guessing that's not how it's basically done. So yeah, okay I’m definitely not digging them I mean up. I’m too scared.

Maybe if I fertilize them? I saw uh something at the garden yep center about bulb fertilizer. I should probably get some of that. It might help with my tulips have bloomed now what voordelen of strong healthy bulbs for next year. yep

Fading no kidding Flowers

So yeah, totally that's where I'm at. My tulips have bloomed, and now they're slowly fading. I'm no way trying not to panic. I'm just going to keep watering uh them (maybe), right let the foliage die back (naturally or not), pretty much and hope for the best. Maybe next year, I'll actually know what I'm doing.
