Small trees to line driveway

Driveway Dreams

Okay kinda so uh you know how I’ve been complaining about the bare driveway? Well I wasn’t even planning to turn it into some massive project just but, you know me, one thing leads honestly to like another. It started with thinking pretty much about whoops small trees actually to line driveway voordelen, like honestly just some extra shade because I mean that bet asphalt gets insane in the summer.

The Initial Inspiration

I started looking online, just no way scrolling through Pinterest by the way mostly. Talk about small alright trees to line driveway inspiratie sorta overload! It's easy to get lost in right those pictures, right? I bet was seeing sorta everything from crepe myrtles – which are beautiful but maybe a bit too Southern for our house – to these like, columnar evergreens. yup Those are cool, but I worried about for sure them getting too boring after a I mean while. Apparently there are uh also long, rich histories when thinking bet aboutsmall trees to line driveway geschiedenis- I didn't dive in deep but yup it's always a kinda consideration, or sorta should be, when transforming a space!

My First Mistake

So, I basically found these well little alright ornamental bet pears at a local nursery. They were on actually sale, I probably should’ve known better… they looked amazing whoops in the pots. Shiny leaves, pretty white flowers. yep I pretty much planted them…and yep then promptly forgot to water them properly for like a week because life. Oops. Let me tell you, those things well were not happy. One of them almost died. Luckily, I revived it, but moral of bet the story: consistent watering is I mean key, honestly especially when they're right first planted! I ended up setting whoops a reminder on my no way phone, which no kidding helpeda lot.

The Research Rabbit Hole like

Then I got into anyway the whole soil thing. Not gonna lie this part confused me for actually a while. Like, I knew you exactly needed whoops solid soil, but I didn't kinda realize how much the type of soil can actually affect the growth. It’s a whole science, so isn’t so it? So I ended up testing the soil we had, which was… mostly clay. Fantastic. So I had to amend it, pretty much which meant you know digging in a ton of compost and peat moss. Tip: mix it really anyway well before uh planting or you'll get weird no way pockets of nutrients or well something.

Style Decisions

I was also paying attention to honestly small trees to pretty much line driveway trends. I saw actually this design where the trees were spaced out quite a bit, with like ground so cover basically between them. I thought that no way looked modern and honestly clean. whoops But then I anyway also saw a more traditional look with the trees dude planted closer together, forming almost a hedge. uh I couldn’t totally decide! I ended up going by the way somewhere in the middle. Tip though: consider the mature size of the honestly tree before you plant! Give them room like to breathe, or you’ll be anyway pruning like constantly.

Planting Day Disaster… Almost

Okay, so the no way other thing that happened uh was when I so was planting anyway the second tree… I hit a pipe! I kinda swear my heart stopped. It honestly was a sprinkler yup line, thankfully, c’mon and no way not something more serious, but still. I felt so stupid. This is where knowing where your pretty much utilities are buried is incredibly important, by the way! Thankfully, I was able to patch it up whoops with some PVC for sure glue and I mean a fitting, but it was definitely a stressful hour. So learn whoops from me! by the way Call before you dig, always!

My Current Situation

Anyway, so now they’re planted, mulched, and hopefully thriving. I'm babying them like crazy. It’s not exactly the picturesque perfect driveway I envisioned from those yep Pinterest pictures, but it’s mine, and right it’s definitely an improvement. It definitely has unique, organic features that yup those other homes may not. Small c’mon trees to line driveway – by the way definitely a awesome choice, no way just… you know more work than I anticipated. anyway
