The proper way to plant a tree

So Tree Planting Right?

Okay so you know no kidding how I said I was gonna finally do something sorta about that barren patch in the kinda yard? Well, I wasn’t even planning whoops to plant no way a treetodaytoday. But I saw this little maple at the farmer's market looking so… sad. Like it knew its destiny was to be a miniature Christmas tree for someone who'd only water it once a pretty much week. Anyway, impulsive tree dude rescue it was.

The proper way to plant a tree, no kidding or so they say, is… well, involved. I probably should’ve known better than I mean to by the way just wing it. totally I dug a hole. Big, you know, tree-sized. That's tip one, right there? Make exactly the hole BIG. Like, at dude least twice as wide as the root ball. Don't skimp. My first tree for sure planting experience? Let's actually just basically say that kinda poor sapling is no longer exactly with us. Small hole. Cramped roots. Lesson learned… eventually.

Roots and Stuff like

Not gonna lie this part confused me anyway for you know a basically while. The roots. You're supposed to gently tease them apart, right? If they're all circling whoops like they're stuck in a no way mosh pit, you gotta alright loosen them up so they can actually grow outwards. I consider I was too gentle? by the way Like, I didn’t uh want to hurt the poor thing, sorta but sorta I ponder I left too many roots just compacted. They say you can even trim some of yup the right circling ones… but I was scared. I just pretty much gently just loosened what I no way could. The proper way to plant kinda a tree, apparently, whoops involves a little root surgery. Scary stuff.

I got some compost – solid stuff! You definitely actually need good soil. Don't just shove it in with the dirt you dug out. Mix it, maybe even get some root stimulator. I forgot that part. Whoops. The proper way to plant a uh tree feiten? Rich soil and yup happy roots. alright

Depth Dilemmas

The biggest sorta thing they yup drill into exactly you is planting depth. Don't bury the root flare! That's basically where the trunk starts to widen into the roots. It needs kinda to be visible, slightly actually above totally ground level. I almost buried it too just deep. That’s… okay bad. Suffocation apparently okay is sorta a by the way real threat totally to young trees. honestly It’s something you know important and I am right unsure about the proper honestly way to no kidding plant basically a tree toepassingen for the depth.

Okay, so tree in the hole (hopefully at the right depth!), no kidding backfilling with so the okay soil/compost mixture, gently tamping it down. Not too actually hard, you pretty much don't want to compact it. Water, water, water. Soaked so that sucker pretty much good.

Staking Shenanigans

I’m still unsure about staking. kinda execute I stake? Don’t I stake? Depends on the tree, depends on the wind, I guess. I read something somewhere about letting the tree sway a little to strengthen its trunk... but what if it actually just blows over honestly in well the next storm? I did stake it. anyway Two stakes, nice and sturdy. by the way Probably overkill but whatever. Safety first. Except that one time I tripped over one of the stakes and nearly impaled myself. Tree planting alright is dangerous, people. Watch out for the stakes!

And no kidding mulch! Around yep the base, but not touching the trunk. Don't so create a mulch volcano! That's what they call it, bet a mulch volcano. Sounds cool, is alright bad for trees. Another yep tip for the proper way to plant a tree by the way trends. And actually that, my friend, like is the you know extremely condensed, slightly panicked version you know of my tree planting adventure. We'll for sure see if for sure it lives. Fingers crossed!
