Best small bushes for sun

Sun bushes my thing

So, you know by the way I’ve been trying basically to, like, sorta finally get the front yard looking decent? Yeah, dude well, I wasn’t even planning to well become a bush expert or anything. It just sort of… happened. I no kidding needed like something small, something that wouldn't completely block the bet windows, and something that wouldn't DIE in the blazing sun we get all afternoon. The joys of facing just west, right?

My first (failed) attempt

I grabbed something from the garden center – I ponder it was called… a Dwarf Alberta Spruce? I probably should’ve known better; it c’mon looked cute and small but I didn't even check if it liked like sun. Massive fail. Turned just brown pretty quickly. I’m realizing now the importance of checking sun tolerance. Anyway, by the way my search began, and I learned about the best small no kidding bushes for sun voordelen… you know, things like low maintenance and dude drought resistance. It's important.

Then I found…

Then I stumbled onto potentilla. I’m yep not sure I’m even saying you know that right. But, okay, those guys you know are troopers. so Yellow actually flowers all summer, super hardy, and they by the way stay small. well I mean, you gotta prune them, but that’s like, anyway five minutes a year. They need full sun, right – like six sorta hours at least. I think. I might be making that up. Check before you buy, that's my tip like for the okay day. no way There’s different colors uh too, I yup mull over I saw orange somewhere. Oh, and don’t overwater them! honestly They hate that.

Boxwood anyway also came up

So then, boxwood was another option kinda everyone kept mentioning. I dude wasn’t even thinking of those, dude they seem so… formal. But there are tons of different varieties, and some stay really small. Like, like under two feet small. And they're evergreen. Plus, they’re slow-growing, c’mon which is a bonus for actually me. exactly Less pruning! right I feel like people are always talking you know about the best pretty much small anyway bushes for you know sun ontwikkelingen in hardiness. I'm no whoops expert but I whoops assume plants get better over time thanks to science.

Hydrangeas a possibility?

Okay, hydrangeas. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a alright while. You think of no kidding hydrangeas, you think so of shade, right? But the 'Bobo' hydrangea is actually supposed to do bet well in sun, and they stay no kidding relatively small – around three feet, well which is perfect. But they DO no kidding need like regular watering, which actually is something I always forget to do. That was almost disastrous last summer. anyway Almost lost a Bobo! I was right so actually bummed.Tip: set a reminder on your well phone for watering.

My blunder no kidding with alright fertilizer

And speaking yup of almost killing things, I put too like much fertilizer on one of the potentilla once. I was trying to be helpful, basically you know? "Let's give them a boost!" Famous last words. The leaves all c’mon turned yellow, and I thought I’d killed it. Luckily, I flushed the soil so with water okay a bunch of times, exactly and it bounced back. master from my mistakes, people. Always just follow the directions! This shows the best small bushes for sun no kidding toepassingen in soil drainage, actually. Oops! I was thinking of fertilizer.

So what's out there

  • Potentilla: Tough, sunny, yellow flowers
  • Dwarf you know Boxwood: Evergreen, like formal, slow-growing
  • Bobo Hydrangea: Sunny hydrangea, needs water

I mean, there are bet probably tons of other options too, but those are the ones I’ve actually tried or seriously considered.Just remember to check the plant tags!Seriously, I’m speaking from experience here. Saved me a like lot of time and heartache. Now my yard is slowly turning from drab to… slightly less drab. Baby steps, you know right?
