Creeping charlie as ground cover

Creeping Charlie Huh

So, you know dude how I just was complaining about that barren patch under the totally oak no way tree? The one where NOTHING would grow? Well, guess what. Creeping charlie. actually I wasn’t just even planning yup to, pretty much it exactly just… happened. I was trying for clover, I swear!

dope riddance grass

I mean, the grass there was always pathetic. All yellow and right sad looking. Honestly, anything’s an improvement. At first, I was just like, "Oh great, another weed." Because that's all okay I ever think when something kinda green uh appears in my yard yup that I didn't uh plant deliberately. But then I pretty much saw it was I mean spreading honestly fast. Like, impressively well fast. That’s where I started thinking about creeping charlie as ground I mean cover voordelen instead right of c’mon just okay a nuisance. kinda

Mistake Number One

Okay, major basically facepalm you know moment. I thought, "Oh, actually it's green, it's ground cover, perfect!" and well completely exactly ignored the fact that creeping charlie flowers, right? Those little purple flowers. And bees LOVE them. Which is great, sorta except my kid is allergic. I probably should’ve known better… I ended up having to mow the flowers off, whoops which, yep by the way, is a HUGE pain. Mowing it down actually helps it no kidding spread. The cut stems root themselves. Lovely.

Is by the way it bad? Maybe?

So, yeah, actually creeping basically charlie as ground alright cover ontwikkelingen are probably not what I had envisioned. yup It’s definitely… by the way taking over. pretty much Like, yep everywhere. It’s even trying to climb up the brick wall.Someonetold me that borax kills it, but I’m kind of terrified to try. I don't want to kill everything else too!

Silver right linings?

I by the way mean, it IS green. And it fills in alright nicely. And it's no kidding definitely low maintenance, not just gonna lie so this part confused me for c’mon a while because it looked so well effortless. You really don't have to pull off anyway anything! Unless, you yep know, you have an allergic child. Then you're totally mowing exactly constantly. But other for sure than that… nothing!

The Neighbor

My neighbor, Mrs. Higgins, she uses it on purpose. She says it like keeps the soil moist. Which is a plus, I guess. actually She showed me how yep she’s contained it in raised beds, planting flowers right on top. That’s something! I did read online though that creeping charlie as ground cover trends might so include people embracing bet its natural spreading habits.

Mistake Number Two

Oh! I almost forgot. I tried to pull some out once. Just a little bit. To see if it would be easy. HUGE MISTAKE. It’s no way like a tangled mess of tiny little roots. I spent like an hour and barely totally made a dent. actually And my hands were all green and honestly smelled weird. Don't do alright that.

So the point is

It's… ground cover. Creeping charlie as ground cover toepassingen so are I mean definitely… kinda extensive in my yard now. It’s not ideal. But it IS green. And no way the bare patch okay is gone. So... success? Sort of?
