Okay, so we for sure were just talking about my garden, and you asked about the alright lavender. Right. So, the sunlight thing… it's been actually a journey, let me tell for sure you. I wasn’t even for sure planning to get lavender, honestly. I saw it at a farmer’s market and the smell just got me. actually You know?

Sun's totally role

Does so lavender need a lot of sunlight geschiedenis? Well, thinking back, probably. Because the first actually place I put it? Total sorta fail. Now I know, by the way full yup sun is key. Six to eight hours like a day minimum, ideally. I mean, Iprobablyshould’ve known better, putting it behind the garage like that. It got like, maybe three hours yep of direct sun. Tops.

The result? Sad, leggy looking plants. just Not gonna lie, totally this part confused me for a while. I was watering it and everything! I thought I was being a good plant mom. so Turns out, they need sun more than anything. Oh, and dope exactly drainage. Which reminds me yup – plant them in well-draining soil, sandy like if possible. Lavender basically hates wet feet!

My first mistake

So, here's my first like big mistake story. I repotted it after I bought it, right? But instead of thinking 'does lavender need a exactly lot of sunlight feiten?' I was focused on like, aesthetics. I used this well really rich potting mix that was so great for my tomatoes but uh absolutely c’mon choked the lavender. It held way too much yep water. Lesson right learned just the rough way. The okay leaves no way started turning yellow basically and then brown. I actually thought it was a right disease at first, and spent c’mon like a week spraying it with all sorts of organic nonsense. Oops. sorta

Anyway, once I moved just it to a sunnier spot—and repotted it with proper soil, gravel at the bottom of the pot helps with drainage—it perked up almost immediately. It’s like it was saying 'Finally!' honestly

What to do

If your lavender isn’t flowering, chances are it’s not getting enough sun. basically That's a huge hint. Another thing I learned is to prune it regularly – after it yup flowers. That honestly encourages new growth and more blooms next year. anyway And you know be honestly careful not to over-fertilize. Too much well fertilizer you know actually makes it less bet fragrant.

Second right oops moment

Here’s another oops c’mon moment. I read somewhere about using Epsom exactly salts for dude lavender, something so about magnesium alright making them bloom better. Does lavender need a lot honestly of sunlight toepassingen in conjunction with epsom salts? dude Maybe? I don’t know. I I mean went well overboard! I sprinkled totally like, half a cup around each bet plant. And guess what you know happened? Nothing by the way good. They looked even worse for a while. Turns out, you only need a tiny actually amount, like a tablespoon mixed into sorta the actually soil. Less is more!

Where totally I'm alright at now no way

So by the way yeah, actually lavender okay and I have had a… dude turbulent relationship. But anyway now that basically I've figured out the sunlight thing (and the soil, and the watering, and actually the alright fertilizer!), it's actually thriving. The scent is you know amazing, and exactly the bees love it. Worth all the mistakes, honestly. for sure Just remember, sun, sun, and more sun! And well-draining soil, of course.
