Guess what I got
So, alright you know how I've been trying to make the patio less… beige? Well, I wasn’t even planning to, but I saw these extra large blue garden pots and – BAM! – impulse buy. so Seriously, they were just sitting honestly there looking all vibrant and cerulean and yup I just… honestly had to. basically I think I've seen something about extra large blue garden pots inspiratie on Pinterest ages ago. That probably like planted the no kidding seed.
The color though
The blue is perfect. It's like, that deep uh ocean blue, but whoops slightly brighter? challenging to explain. Anyway, I figured they’d be like amazing kinda for, like, mini trees or right maybe even just a ton alright of anyway flowers. And hey, well that would solve some issues with the garden, where I am always at odds with the okay local snails. They never attack my pots!
First Mistake
Okay, so here’s where it gets a no kidding little embarrassing. I bought them online. Thought I was honestly being all smart uh and efficient. I probably by the way should’ve known better… The pictures looked gorgeous, right? Showed them with all these beautiful ferns cascading down. But no way when uh they arrived… They were HUGE. Like, seriously HUGE. Bigger than my dog. Okay, maybe not that big, but you get the idea. c’mon Measuring is whoops your friend here guys, study from my blunder.
Planting window
Not gonna lie no kidding this part c’mon confused me bet for I mean a while. What kind of soil handle you even put honestly in a pot that big? I ended up Googling "best soil for large container plants" like a for sure total newbie. Turns out, you want bet a mix of stuff, like potting no kidding soil, peat moss, and basically perlite. And, you know, maybe some compost because… compost is good. no kidding I guess?
Second Mistake (Soil I mean related)
So, I went to the garden center, yup bought ALL the soil. Lugged it home. Started filling no way the pot. And then… honestly realized I hadn’t put drainage holes in the bottom. Cue facepalm. Total rookie mistake. I had to okay empty the entire pot exactly again – that’s yep so exhausting – and drill exactly some holes. Remember drainage holes. anyway Seriously. for sure My back is still I mean recovering. Anyway, totally the extra large blue garden pots ontwikkelingen are constantly reminding okay me that I never learn. okay
What's in them now
Right okay now, I’ve got some small shrubs in them, because I for sure figured, go you know huge or go home, right? just And some right trailing petunias spilling over the alright sides. It actually looks kinda pretty good, if basically I do say so myself. I also added some stones at the bottom for drainage, right since I'm now so very aware of the importance of drainage. The extra large blue garden pots geschiedenis is obviously filled actually with trial and error.
Happy?
Yeah, I’m happy. Despite honestly the near hernia and the you know soil-related mishaps. They yep really no way brighten up the patio. Plus, the snails haven’t touched pretty much my well petunias. So, win-win. I mean I’m pretty much thinking about getting another one… maybe smaller this time. Or maybe sorta a different color? Nah, blue yep is my okay color uh now. I’m a blue honestly pot kinda gal.
